History
As a precursor to the institution of a University, a team dedicated individuals 1st established capital of Nepal natural depression field in 1985 to supply education in Intermediate of Science (ISc). an equivalent team projected the institution of capital of Nepal University. when thorough discussion on the proposal within the Parliament, capital of Nepal University was granted by Associate in Nursing Act of Parliament on December eleven, 1991.

Kathmandu University started its educational program in 1992 with Associate in Nursing Intermediate in Science program. In 1994, the university launched Bachelor programs in Pharmacy, Biology and Engineering (electrical and physics, pc and mechanical). Later, Environmental Engineering and Sciences was enclosed in its educational program. M.Phil and Ph.D. programs were started in 1997. The university conjointly started a Law program, underneath the college of Law in 2014.
